How fast can you read?

1. Acceptance of the terms

By creating an account or using Vorbeon ("the Service"), you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the service

Vorbeon is a speed-reading (RSVP) application that shows the text of books one word at a time at an adjustable speed, along with a personal library, favorites and reading-tracking features.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when you sign up, and you are responsible for keeping your password confidential. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Plans and billing

Vorbeon offers a free plan with limited features and a paid Premium plan (monthly or yearly) with additional features. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as our Merchant of Record (authorized reseller). Paddle handles the charge and applicable taxes and invoices the transaction; by paying, you also accept Paddle's terms.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before then. You can cancel at any time from your profile; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.

5. Content

The books available on Vorbeon are public-domain works or licensed content. We do not claim copyright over the original works. The Vorbeon brand, the design of the application and the word-presentation mechanism are the property of Vorbeon.

6. Acceptable use

You may not: use the Service for unlawful purposes, attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or to our systems, extract or redistribute the content in bulk, or interfere with the operation of the Service.

7. Cancellation and suspension

We may suspend or cancel your account if you violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us.

8. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vorbeon will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by publishing the new version with its update date.

1. What data we collect

• Account data: email, username (optional), password (stored encrypted).
• Usage data: reading progress, preferred speed, favorites, highlights, finished books.
• Payment data: handled entirely by Paddle.com; Vorbeon does not store card numbers.

2. How we use your data

We use your data to provide the Service (saving your progress, syncing your library across devices, processing your subscription), to improve the application and to communicate with you about your account.

3. Who we share data with

We work with third-party providers that process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• Paddle.com — payment processing and billing.
• Resend — transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset).
• Google — optional sign-in through Google OAuth.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Local storage

We use the browser's local storage to remember preferences, such as whether you have already seen the gesture guide. We do not use advertising tracking cookies.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure password storage. No system is 100% infallible.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your personal data at any time from your profile, or by emailing us at hello@vorbeon.com. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data unless we are required to keep something for legal or tax reasons.

7. Minors

Vorbeon is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the version in effect.

1. Who processes your purchase

All Vorbeon Premium purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, our Merchant of Record. Paddle appears on your card statement and handles the charge and invoicing for your subscription.

2. Refund period

If you are not satisfied with your subscription, you can request a full refund within 14 days of the first charge. After that period, refunds are reviewed case by case.

3. How to request a refund

Email us at hello@vorbeon.com with your account email and the reason for your request. You can also request the refund directly through the receipt email Paddle sends you at the time of purchase.

4. Cancellations

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your profile. Canceling stops the automatic renewal, but does not generate a prorated refund for the period already paid, unless it falls under the 14-day policy.

5. Plan changes

If you switch from the monthly to the yearly plan (or vice versa), the change is reflected in your next billing cycle.
